Coach Feature: Trish Currie

Trish Currie

For more than 30 years, I’ve been developing people. I’ve devoted my life to helping people grow into who they were created to be. Whether in the classroom, around the conference table, or across a coaching conversation, my greatest joy has always been guiding others toward greater confidence, clarity, and purpose. My professional journey began in education, where I spent 24 years as a teacher—18 years in middle school language arts, teaching and mentoring; six years in elementary education. I later served as an Instructional Specialist, leading and coaching teachers while helping strengthen instructional practices across a school community. Along the way, I discovered that my greatest fulfillment came not from teaching content, but from helping people recognize their potential and move beyond the barriers holding them back.

For the past six years, I’ve coached individuals and groups through seasons of growth and transition. I’m an ICF-certified coach and have completed coach training through LeaderBreakThru and GiANT Worldwide, organizations dedicated to developing leaders who create healthy, high-performing cultures. My coaching is also deeply informed by real-life experience. As the daughter of immigrants, I’ve learned to navigate different perspectives and cultures, but more importantly, have empathy for people in diverse and changing situations. I’ve crossed the country, built a thriving marriage that bridges very different backgrounds, and raised six children into independent adulthood. Those experiences have taught me resilience, empathy, and the value of listening well.

In addition to coaching, I’ve spent more than 20 years encouraging parents through coaching, mentoring, and developing resources for parenting seminars. I’ve also served in church leadership with a special focus on caring for women.

I believe meaningful growth happens when people feel genuinely seen, heard, and challenged with grace. My role is not to tell you what your life should look like, but to help you discover the clarity, confidence, and courage to create it yourself.

Why I Am a Life and Relationship Coach

At the heart of who I am is a desire to develop people. Throughout my years as an educator, leader, parent coach, and now life and relationship coach, I have found deep meaning in coming alongside people and helping them grow. I am interested in people—how they think, what motivates them, how they relate to others, and what helps them become the healthiest and most fully developed version of themselves.

Coaching gives me a unique opportunity to do that work. It allows me to help people grow in self-awareness, awareness of others, and awareness of the relationships that shape their lives. I believe that greater awareness creates greater choice. When we understand ourselves more clearly, we are better equipped to make intentional decisions about how we live, lead, communicate, and relate to others.

Coaching is valuable because the process creates space for clarity. We often carry thoughts, ideas, questions, motives, and emotions that can feel tangled or difficult to sort through on our own. A coach provides a trusted space to slow down, explore what is really happening, ask meaningful questions, and discover what may be underneath the surface. Coaching is not about telling someone what to do; it is about helping them discover what they already know, what they may be missing, and what they want to do next.

What I bring to coaching is curiosity, genuine interest in people, experience, knowledge, trust, and a commitment to personal growth. My more than 30 years in education and leadership have given me a broad understanding of people and relationships. My experience as a mother, educator, leader, and coach has taught me to listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and meet people with empathy and respect.

I see coaching as an invitation to grow—with someone alongside you who is curious enough to explore, experienced enough to offer perspective, and committed enough to create a relationship built on trust.
